Engram

Support

Last updated: 23 May 2026

Engram is built and supported by one person. If something is broken, confusing, or could be better, email support@lumoraworks.app and you’ll get a reply.

Quick start

  1. Add a piece. Tap + New Piece on Home. Give it a name, composer, and an optional tempo.
  2. Break it into sections. Tap Setup. Add sections (e.g. A, B, A reprise) or batch with shorthand like “A-F” or “Var. 1-30”.
  3. Add chunks inside each section.A chunk is a specific passage worth drilling — a few measures, a hard transition, an ornament. Shorthand works here too: “T.1-8”.
  4. Generate a session. Tap Practice. Pick granularity (section or chunk) and mode (Gradual or Random). Adjust the item count and reps if you want.
  5. Tick off as you go. Each line is a retrieval. Play it, recall it, mark it. Finish to log the session.

Subscriptions and purchases

Engram is free to use with one piece and seven days of session history. Engram Pro unlocks unlimited pieces, full history, and CSV export, with iCloud sync planned.

Manage or cancel a subscription

Annual subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by us, and are managed through your Apple ID:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
  3. Select Engram Pro and choose Cancel Subscription.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep Pro access until then.

Restore purchases on a new device

Open Engram, go to Settings inside the app, and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you’re signed into the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase.

Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are requested through Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and select your Engram purchase. We don’t handle refunds directly and can’t process them on your behalf.

Pro features still locked after purchase

Tap Restore Purchasesin Settings. If that doesn’t work, close and reopen Engram, then try again. If the lock persists, email us with your Apple ID region (not your Apple ID itself) and the approximate date of purchase, and we’ll help.

My piece won’t appear in the practice generator

The generator needs at least one section with at least one chunk (when using chunk granularity) or at least one section (when using section granularity). Open the piece, tap Setup, and confirm there are items to draw from.

I deleted the app and lost my pieces

Engram stores everything locally on your device. Deleting the app deletes the data. If iCloud Backup is on, restoring your device from a backup restores Engram’s data alongside everything else. iCloud sync inside Engram is planned for a future release.

The session sequence repeats the same chunk twice in a row

The generator avoids consecutive duplicates by default. If you see them, it usually means the source pool is small relative to the requested session length — add more chunks, lower the items-per-sequence count, or reduce the rep count.

How do I export my history?

Open Settings in the app and tap Export history (CSV). The file opens in the iOS share sheet, where you can save it to Files, email it to yourself, or send it to a cloud drive. CSV export requires Engram Pro.

Privacy

Engram has no analytics, no account, and no servers. See the full Privacy Policy for details.
